Most cutters if not all come from dysfunctional homes,(yhyhyh non cutter can come from a dysfunctional home too stfu, we all find different ways to cope) where we got either no attention or the wrong kind of attention (ie molestation for example). I remember when cutting myself was to punish my mother, and it was also a way to relieve stress but then soon spiraled to a sort of addiction to harming yourself. Attention is a contributing factor, but probably not the entire cause. ![]()
